Since 2015, LGBT Asylum Support has been vigilant in safeguarding humanity within the asylum procedure. Throughout recent years it has become apparent the distinct absence of humanity cannot be regarded as isolated incidents, but institutional practice by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND).

Rainbow Flag @AZC

On the 11th of October 2016, LGBT Asylum Support presented rainbow flags to several asylum centers on ‘National Coming Out Day’. By virtue of LGBT Asylum Support, rainbow flags were displayed on behalf of LGBT-refugees for the first time.

‘Born this way’ maar NietQueerGenoeg Clarence Amihere is een jonge, homoseksuele man – ‘born this way’ – die zijn homofobe land Ghana ontvluchtte nadat zijn ouders hem verstoten hadden. Hij vluchtte naar Oekraine maar ook daar ondervond hij vanwege zijn gedrag en uiterlijk homofobie. Vanwege de oorlog in Oekraine met Rusland vluchtte hij nogmaals maar nu naar Nederland als ‘derdelander’.
